Ivar Oh!

1 Comment House, Techno

Boston “The Big Picture

You remember Unofficial Records? They’ve released a killing Ep a couple weeks back. I know I’m a little late with this, but the Swedish techno producer Ivar Oh! released his Sticky Ep around the end of March. Apparently he’s been experimenting with music from the incredible young age of 12. I’m not sure if this got anything to do with his top quality tracks. That Sticky is a must-have release for all techno lovers who appreciate some house influences, is a fact.

Minisub

No Comments Minimal, Tech House

Aight, time for some minimal again! Today’s spotlighted tune is called Machma and was produced by Minisub a.k.a Minimal T., a very talented guy from Berlin!
The track has an extremely steady build-up and at some point you wonder whether something new will come in or not. Then suddenly it gets going and it really turns into, wat the Germans would call “eine saubere tanzflurnummer”, a superb tech housy “shake that booty” track! Absolutely love this one!

Also check out the following April mixtape by Minisub, it has a couple of very interesting tracks in it!

Poll 11

5 Comments Polls

Persistent Pyramids by Anatoly Zenkov.

It’s been a while since we’ve launched a new poll. The last one was pretty important for us and for our chart posts. Thanks to everyone who took the time to share their opinion. As you have noticed we’ll continue posting 128 versions in the charts. Other featured posts will contain 320kbps tracks if allowed.

Now lets get on with this next poll. I was currently wondering on what basis our readers choose whether to follow a blog or not. Of course everybody knows there’re like tons of music blogs out there. Most likely you will follow just a fraction of those. You know what, lets make it more specific. Why do you follow phase02? What is your reason to come back here once in a while?

Please feel free to discuss this further in the comment section.

The Wallet

No Comments Electro, House, Tech House

Our friends over at Magnetron in Amsterdam, home of Le Le and Rimer London, keep bangin’ in out and it doesn’t look like they are slowing down anytime soon. We’re back now with the first track from their new sublabel Instant Replay for somewhat mindless clubbangers, but needless to say, they may be mindless, but they’re still brilliant. The first release is by B.R.U.C.E. and is called The Wallet, to celebrate money.

What can I say. Le Le and Rimer London starting up a label. That has to be good. B.R.U.C.E (Billionaire – Rambunctious – Under – Circumstances – Extraordinaire) simply confirm that feeling. Enjoy The Wallet and the TWR72 remix.

Some Tunes 3

1 Comment Electro, House

Basserk recently released their third “Some Tunes” compilation. This compilation cd presents 16 killer tracks of a few old Basserk names like Nobody Beats The Drum (NED), MilkMoneyMaffia (NED) and the Lazy Late Kidz (F) but also loads of new names like: Aerotronic (B), Distrakt (AUS), Doctr (NED), PartyMode (USA), Brilliants (I) and many more.

Check out the following promo mix full electro/fidget style tracks. Basserk likes it raw and banging explosive. According to Basserk this cd will blow up your speakers like a grenade.

Hermanos Inglesos – Joeysuki

4 Comments Electro, Electronic, Tech House

Recently, Belgian producers Hermanos Inglesos released their first album called The Wander Of You, a very stylish debut if you ask me. Most of the tracks are real floorfillers. Take for instance the home 0207 remix, originally by Plastic operator, it still is one of the bounciest tracks ever made imo. Still the freshest tune without doubt is wanderland, the first track on the album. It’s a much deeper, spacy and techy track than the other ones, I really like it. It will be released on EP in may on Pias and it will feature a vocal of  Lara Chedraoui (from Intergalactic Lovers, looking forward to that one!) and a remix by Clashes a.k.a Villa.
They already released the second track of the album, called Take Me Down, on EP featuring 3 new remixes. The guys were so kind to share a track from the EP with us.
Show them some love and buy the album or the EP!

Next up, a very cool housy track by Dutch producer Joeysuki that I recently discovered in a fresh mixtape. The original is pretty minimalistic, the Joeysuki remix sounds a bit more beat heavy. Keep an eye on this talented guy!

I’ve been near you…

3 Comments Dubstep

Via Hobogestapo

Writing about music and sharing music with others have always been things I’ve enjoyed doing. Some of you might know me from another music website I started back in 2007. I posted lots of different electro tracks but the genre became too “easy” for me. When I started experimenting with Ableton/Reason myself and found out I could also create those sounds you hear so often lately, I was left in a bit of a ‘what the f** was I thinking state. I’ve been drifting through phases of fidget, detroit, dubstep and lots of other things you don’t even want to know :) .

Actually the old blog is still online but I lost interest last year and I became pretty cynical about the whole “posting music-idea”. Yet, I kept listening to all sorts of music and gradually started to miss writing about it. So, here I am then! I contacted Timic, we talked a little bit and it was pretty clear from the start we shared the same vision music-wise, so he was so kind to offer me an authoring position here on Phase 02.

For my first ever post I’d like to share an edit of I’ve been near you by Rubix, being originally a track by O.J. Symstem. It has a very heavy bassline and creates a somewhat mysterious atmosphere.
