ZZT – Partys Over Earth

No Comments Electro, Electronic, Featured

On november 7, ZZT will be releasing their first ever album, called Partys over earth. Last week though they also released the track Partys over Los Angeles and a couple of remixes (Turbo 112). This is the Jon Convex version that reflects the vanguard of new-school UK-bass influenced techno.

ZZT – Partys Over Los Angeles (Jon Convex Remix)

Don’t forget to listen to the entire new ZZTalbum by the way!

PARTYS OVER EARTH is relentless, uncompromising Combat Funk. If the new ZZT were a drug, it would be DZZMT. Not the stuff some loser shaman huffs behind the village gas station, but a new-school cut of Freebase Free-Bass that tears out your central nervous system and forces it to dance with the hottest elf you’ve ever seen.

Don’t even try to “share” it. Save your generosity for when you’re reduced to eating Mayan Calendars to survive.

On the day this world lost an amazing mind, Basserk Records is celebrating their 5th anniversary.

After 5 years of Basserk we have met and released a lot of great artists and we wanted to find a way to put them all together, we think the Big Fat Zip does that perfectly. This compilation is made possible by 40 different artists who all give their music to you for nothing. If you like what they do, support them, buy their music (even if its not on Basserk), like them on social media, go see them play or just send them a message saying thanks.

Enjoy the music,

Basserk and all our artists.

Les enfants…

1 Comment Electro, Featured, House

Let me start this post by saying “I am sorry”, because I really am. I’ll tell you why.
I was listening to Tiga’s podcast the other day (yeh, I tend to do that from time to time although mostly way too late) and suddenly the guy mumbled something about “Gesafelziehn”, kind of a new talent in the business and he was hyping him a lot too. Then the track started to play and I was actually blown away by it. There was some strange crossover feeling to it (hence the track being backed by usual suspects like Erol, 2mDj’s, Brodinski but also by The Hacker, Miss Kittin, Dj Hell and some guy called Laurent Garnier). Then I remembered I had received a promo e-mail a while back saying something about “Gesavelstiehnn” which I didn’t care to open at the time, so I went back to my inbox and there it was: Cassius – Les enfants (Gesaffelstein remix).
I know…, I’m pretty late with this compared to other sites, therefore my deepest apologies, I am ashamed of myself to put this on an entire week after the release… but still I feel a strong inner urge to share this with you. All you need to know for now is to hit the play button below. For more info about the guy, I refer to other sites because they were earlier with this. Oh yes and kudos to mister Tiga and his podcast (let’s wait for another 14 months now for his next one..).

Oh yes, here’s something else that you really need to check out! It’s only a preview but please do remember the name: Julio Bashmore! Will be released on Turbo soon!

Sunday Afternoon

Sjalom all! I’m in quite a relaxed mood today, therefore don’t expect to find any uplifting, in your face, “omg too much bass” material in this post. Instead, sit back, relax and enjoy the following beauties.

First up, a new Goran Tech production called “One Way EP” which is already his 5th release on Artefact records.
The track you can find below is called Space hero, in my opinion the coolest of the three. It has a very funky feel because of the jazzy trumpet chords and the flanged vocals. Still, because of the drum rolls you can also feel kind of a bouncy touch in it. It’s also the ideal tune to use in a set to keep the crowd going and to build up to something new… overall: great stuff! Buy here.

“Black Noise”, the latest album of Hendrik Weber, aka Pantha du Prince, made a deep impression on me when listening to it for the first time. All the tracks consist of very special sounds that Hendrik and his collegues “found” on a field recording session. Add some original taps, hits and knocks on self made instruments and there you have it: 11 splendid, subtle, often dreamy technotracks. Below you can find the third track of the album (you’ll immediately hear the special sounds he used). You can also find a remix by Animal collective. Buy the album here.

I’m also a huge fan of Bonobo these days! The latest album, called Black Sands, is the fourth studio album of UK based Simon Green (alias Bonobo). The interesting thing about this full-length is that it has a pretty complex style. Obviously there is an electronic influence with some downbeat and hip/trip hop but very often you can hear some future-jazz and even dubstep in it. And then there are also the vocals of Andreya Triana on three tracks which makes the album explore the hidden land of electro-samba. In all, I think we can best call it chillout/ downtempo because that’s what you can feel in most of the tracks although I actually don’t like to make these genre divisions for you, that’s up to you…
Overall, this… is much more than only muzak in hipster cafés!
Check out the following remix of the fourth track which is not on the album. It gives the original a more baile funk, UK funky garage feel… Buy the album here.
