there is love.
Four Tet is going on tour in April to support the release of his massively anticipated 5th un-studio album ‘There Is Love’. Kieran has been a busy, busy, busy man; I wonder where he get’s the time to inhale and exhale like normal people? Here is an interview where he explains some of the idea’s he had for the mix he did live at BBC radio one.
In the interview, Kieran reveals that he’s collaborating with Floating points on a remix and I’m really excited to hear what they’ve done. If you haven’t heard of Floating Points before now, do yourself a favor and check out some of his tunes. The BBC mix has been uploaded to the Four Tet soundcloud page but you can also alternatively stream or download it right here.
The other mix he made was done for Plastic People – a final commemorative compilation of tracks that celebrate the experiences he’s had as a resident DJ at the club. Included in the mix are the stunning recent singles ‘Love Cry,’ ‘Moth’, ‘Sing’, the Joy Orbison mix, as well as an exclusive unheard track off the new album. This mix is also available on the Four Tet soundcloud page but again, we’ve included it right here for your convenience.
As far as I’m concerned, ‘There Is Love’ marks the first must have album of 2010. I’m a bit gutted that there isn’t a tour date for Toronto but maybe I can make it down to New York if the stars align properly. ‘There Is Love’ will be out January 26th through Domino records. Hopefully some of our readers living in major cities will have the opportunity to catch Four Tet on tour with support from Nathan Fake. If you’re planning on attending we’d like to know! Here are the dates.

not too sure how the animal collective fans are gonna feel about the summer clothes remixes. i can’t help but think about deadmau5, rhiana, or even snoop dogg all having recently “collaborated” with producers/artists working around the fringes of dubstep. but it’s like if you are hip to it – then you better get a dubstep or at least put some fuckn donk innit.

Martyn never fails to impress me because he’s such a versatile artist. I’ve shared another Fever Ray remix from Hakan Lidbo previously. If you’re looking for more check back through the monthly charts.
Hunting For Mixes 12
Finally some new fresh mixes on PHASE02! Hell yeah! I know it’s been a while but here it is finally. A new mix collection for our Hunting For Mixes section.
I’d like to start by featuring a Promo mix by a local DJ. He’s still very young but has got some serious potential to grow big in the techno scene. I’m talking about Thomas Dockx. Go check out his latest tracks on his myspace. Thomas’ September promo DJ set contains tracks by Rodriguez Jr., Lauhaus, Gabe, Peter Gun, Joel Mull, Matthias Meyer, Tom Buddon, Martini Bro’s, Alex Celler and more – In my opinion, a collection presenting his style perfectly. Enjoy!

Next up are the Super Viral Brothers with their Swine Flu Shot Mixtape. For who’se wondering, Super Viral Brothers are Olle Cornéer (from Dada Life) and Anthony Mills (Ghettotrance and more). This mixtape is completely different from the usual mixer. The viral brothers chopped up every track and wrote new songs on top. Insane!

Better Swimmers
Better Swimmers is a Winnipeg, Canada based promotion company that has launched a new record label and is offering up their first release as a free download. The Crosstown Rivals are kicking of with their single Exits remixed by Vitaminesforyou, Get Famous! and Dj Co-op. Keep an eye on these new indie rockers. They’ve made one hell of a song and I bet there’re more kick-ass tracks like these coming up. Now enjoy vitaminesforyou’s synth up version.

moth / wolfclub.
A highly anticipated collaboration for fans of Burial & Fourtet. Here we have 2 tracks with no trace of any conventional glossy fancy packaging or album artwork. It’s not as if it’s a big statement or anything, but I do like the sort of raw, elusive, and bare aesthetic. You can see in these pictures that the catalog number was etched right on the vinyl.
Wolf club revisits the strange hypnotic rhythmic trademark Burial introduced on his first EP – “South London Burroughs” while Moth is very serene and more subtle, but the ambiance is what makes it so gutting and irresistible.
