Maxime Miville is a electronic music producer based in Montreal Canada. I couldn’t find any back catalogs of his work, or much information about him except that he is heavily influeced by the Boarder Community sound.
The Runners High EP features 2 original tracks and 2 remixes.

1. Dopamine (Original Mix)
[audio:/0309/Mp3_320/128 Blog Friendly/01 Dopamine (Original).mp3]
2. Endorphin (Original Mix)
3. Dopeamine (Rico Cassaza Remix)
[audio:/0309/Mp3_320/128 Blog Friendly/03 Dopamine (Rico Casazza Remix).mp3]
4. Dopamine (Rico Puestel Remix)

I wasn’t entirely impressed with the remixes because I feel like they didn’t capture the ‘essence’ if you will. You might agree that both treatments loose the melancholy vibe in favor of focusing on developing more complex rhythmic layers. I would have liked to see what Cassaza would have done with Endorphin. ;) Speaking of which, Rico Casaaza is starting up a new label himself and looking for demos.
Runners High is out on Archipel records as a digital release and is available on Beatport.

It’s been a while since I posted one of these. But it’s also been a while since I checked my dropbox and wow found some really nice tracks in there. Keep them dropping guys! I promise I’ll check it out more often from now on. Enough said let’s get on with this.

We start of with a Swedish collaboration between Quietboy and Yeah! Woho!.

Yeah! Woho! – Punk (The Quietboy Vocal refix)

Now that we’re warmed up, let’s make some place for some heavier stuff. Check out this still unsigned German electro duo Disko Bums‘s El Bombo. Oh just love how this track starts off with those heavy grungy synths. The track still needs some fine tuning but I have to admit I’m headbanging  right now.

[audio:/0309/elbombo_diskobums.mp3]

The next one is from … I don’t know actually. I can’t seem to find a myspace of either the remixer or the original producer. The original might be from the young Belgian dj called Ilektronic. But can’t say it for sure. Talking about underground!? Anyway it’s a pretty cool track. Enjoy.

Next up is Big Nasty aka Cold Blank with his remix of LMFAO’s I’m in Miami Bitch. I’ve heard better of him to be honest. Ah well it’s a banger anyway, real dancefloor material. Give him some love.

Oh okay now just lets trash the happy synth melodies. That seems to be the goal of the Slovak Que on this tune anyway. For DJs out there who wants to get their crowd crazy, this might be the tool you’re searching for. Discodust described this track as “deep booming 808 kickdrums, clap massacres, funky organs, twirling synths, fat saw chords and a catchy vocal sample to a true club stormer, this is literal ‘electro house’ paired with a rock and roll attitude.”

After a quite busy weekend with a cheap local party and dj-ing at a private birthday party, I’m now back without a hangover and ready to post some awesome tunes we’ve received in our mailbox or through our Dropbox account. Due lack of spare time and most importantly the incredible huge amount of emails and tracks we receive we just simply can’t write a single post about each artist. So that’s mainly why this Drop It series come in handy.

I’m gonna start off with Don Diablo, one of the most demand remixers of the moment. I selected his remix of Walter Meego‘s forthcoming single Girls which he has beefed up with dirty bassline sounds and heavy breaks to make the crowd go crazy.

[audio:/0209/Walter Meego - Girls (Don Diablo Remix).mp3]

Secondly I want you to introduce to Mustard Pimp, another French electro genius, who has recently released 3 tracks free to download in 320. One of them is his remix of Mo Do’s 90s classic Ein Zwei Polizei. I can’t wait how to see the crowd reacts when hearing these famous vocals. Check out his myspace for more free tunes.

For the next one I don’t really have words. Like an image, a sound is worth a thousands words too. Right? Or maybe one word is enough. Banging! JFK and the Chewy Chocolate Cookies!

Alexander Technique feat. Van Scott – Nightlovers (CCC & JFK Remix)

Next up is the famous sound of Mr.Oizo remixed by Pink Is Punk. This upcoming Italian duo is releasing their first Ep Double Trouble. Keep an eye on these guys. History have told us Italy creates some of the best in the electronic music scene. Enjoy.

Last but not least I give you a brand new remix by Reflex. They’ve congratulations from Franz Ferdinand himself for their version of Ulysses.

It’s time of the year where Sinterklaas, a holy man looking like these fellas in the picture, travels around West-Europe and give the sweet kids the nicest gifts. Well I feel like playing Sinterklaas and give my dear readers some candy tunes from some young upcoming talents who try to get their names out there.

We start of with good chap of the Netherlands called Quarantehuit who’s been making really nice electro. You might know him from his Chemical Brothers remix Hey Boy, Hey Girl. Anyway he told me he’s back in a producing mood so make sure you keep an eye on him.

[audio:/1208/Quarantehuit - Aurora beam.mp3]

The next tune is one from really amazing artists from Germany. They originaly made rock music but swapped their guitars for synths and a computer. I’m talking about ULTRNX who’ve been kind to share their kick-ass remix of GRUM’s masterpiece Woah.

[audio:/1208/Grum - Woah_ULTRNX Remix.mp3]
Grum – Woah (ULTRNX Remix)

The next up is Egotronic with a magic combination of synths and bass. Don’t need to say more, just check it out, you’ll know what I mean. They don’t need more then 20secs to make you love this track. Although you really have to love this style to dig it.

[audio:/1208/Egotronic_Es_muss_stets_hell_fuer_Gottes_Auge.mp3]
Egotronic – Es muß stets hell für Gottes Auge sein

Again time for a very tasty remix! This time by these really talented and incredibly unknown young Disco Wizards from Scotland. Their name says it all. And check this out – they’ve remixed The Beach Boys! Now you’re thinking “Oh no again some stupid kids who fucked up a classic with their computer”. Actually yeah, that’s what happened. But I kind of like it and it caught my attention and I checked out their myspace and they’ve got some really nice tunes up there (FREE!) – and what the f*ck they’ve only got 94 friends. So go up there and give them some really hardcore cyberlove!

The end with with we have this brave guy called mrRobotnik who dared to remix MSTRKFT. And to be honest he did a quite good job. I think he could have done a better job on the new melody. It starts annoying me a little to fast. But there’s just now way you can beat the original.

For those who live near Bruges: We’re playing Saturday night 23u-01u @ a party in Zedelgem.

Yeah, it’s time again to show off what new artists have dropped in our dropbox. And again I have to say it is stunning what ends up in this box. Tunes you’d never hear without this tool I’m so glad with it and I’m so glad I can introduce you to some underground talents.

I start off with Big Nasty who took the challenge to remix A-Trak‘s banging Say Whoa. Actually I already introduced you to this upcoming American electro hero in Drop It 02. But hey, when it’s good it need to be heard.

Secondly we’ve got a totally new name. And what a name, I’m talking about Rynecologist, a Canadian duo that’s dropped their version of one of Daft Punk’s greatest One More Time. Of course that’s enough to make you curious already. Beware… it’s dirty!

Ow ow this one is really awesome! Fat And Ugly he calls himself. I’m not sure that’s about himself but it’s definitely a correct description of what he sounds like. Give him some fat ugly myspace love after checking this track. Thank you!

We’re back from Amsterdam which was wicked. And we’re back with some crazy tunes to share. Our dropbox has  been receiving so much nice new tracks that we can barely follow it up. But it’s extremely great to discover tracks and remixes from still very hidden talents who want to come out of the shadow and show off their sounds. We’ve again got again a really awesome collection this time.

We’re gonna start off with the French duo Underhall who have made such nice remixes lately. One of them is Young and Stupid of the Dreamer. You should check out the original to, they really changed into an hard banging trashy electro track that’ll make people bounce on a dance floor.

Secondly We’ve received a new remix from Saint Pauli which you might know from earlier posts. Enjoy their new remix!

Egotronic – Raven Gegen Deutschland (Saint Pauli Remix)

Okay hold on the next one is a remix of California of the legendary 2Pac by Dj Big Nasty. This track already ended up in the top5 popular tracks on Hypem. So for the Djs out there … it’s proved that it is loved. It sounds a little too clean for my taste but I always appreciate the part when the claps come in.

Now here’s the bonus. Disco Villains gets Ludacris on the in the clubs and Pola-Riot from Austria trashes up Bunny Lake.

Drop It 01

As you may have noticed, we have a new feature in our sidebar called The Dropbox. We’ve already received very nice tracks through there, so we figured, lets feature them in a special topic. So here it is, our first Drop it post of many to come. We might make a separate category for this. We’ll see.

Anyway here we go.

We start off with a track by Alice Klar!. Alice is from liverpool, Chris is german, when they meet you get a bubble gum chewing tune… with the potential to float the dance floot! I couldn’t describe it better! Enjoy Montag by Alice Klar!.

[audio:/0808/aliceklar_montag.mp3]

The second very nice remix we’ve received in our dropbox is from two young talented London based djs/producers called J.E.M.C.. They’re both 17 years old and have been djing for only 6 months. Check out their already amazing remix of Benny Bennasi’s I Am Not Drunk.

Yes, as you can see. Our dropbox is really a succes. Our third tune is a really funky one of the Super Fresh Power Squad. They describe their music as intergalactic spandex sex funk. Sexy it is and reminds me a lot of of Chromeo’s funky sound. Check it out.

[audio:/0808/Sexy_RO.B.O.T.mp3]

Now we’ve got two more tracks left. One is from Moog Skywalker & Zappenduster both signed under aUtOdiDakT’s label Traktor-Records. The other one is from two Antwerp based producers Netsky & Nightrash with a very nice minimal sound. Simply a very nice warming up club track. Also I’m wondering how they got together because Netsky is actually more a Drum ‘n Bass producer. Wonderful how they mixed up their style. Enjoy!
