Lot49 Records brings us a new album Light & Dark by Lee Coombs. This album is in his own words “a true tech funk album”, a fusion of techno, breaks, house and electro. In my opinion a sound I can definitely get used to. Put on Light & Dark and you’ll know what I’m talking about. I was listening to it before I read the description and I was already trying to find the right genre to describe it. Tech Funk it is!  And I like it! I hope you do too. Maybe I should make a new category for it.

This week I got an interesting email of a Russian techno net-label called Motorlab. They’re online for one year now and have released 6 digital Eps which are all available for download on their website for free. That’s right. Six incredible high quality techno releases for free. Hi everyone, tonight is my brother’s birthday and I think I’ve found the perfect track to start off this party.

Lot49 label boss, Meat Katie a.k.a. Mark Pember has released his new Ep Tension. I’m talking about a real big name here. For those who haven’t been around the past 15 years, Pember has produced for labels such as Lot49, Kingsize, R&S and Wall Of Sound to name a few. He has run two highly successful labels and has played all around the world. Now check out a 128 version of Tension and head over to Beatport to discover even hotter more banging tracks released on the Tension EP. I think “Lucia” is my personal favourite of this incredible release. Have a nice weekend!

Next up are the Super Viral Brothers with their  Swine Flu Shot Mixtape. For who’se wondering, Super Viral Brothers are Olle Cornéer (from Dada Life) and Anthony Mills (Ghettotrance and more). This mixtape is completely different from the usual mixer. The viral brothers chopped up every track and wrote new songs on top. Insane!
